The Details
A beautifully made and increasingly hard-to-find Yamaha AEX502 semi-hollow electric guitar, made in Taiwan in 1999 and finished in a striking translucent orange finish.
Part of Yamaha’s underrated AEX series, the AEX502 combines the warmth and resonance of a semi-hollow body with the punch, articulation and midrange bite of a pair of P90 pickups. The result is a guitar equally at home with blues, indie, jazz, Americana and alternative rock.
The compact semi-hollow body and centre block construction help keep feedback under control while retaining plenty of acoustic character and sustain. It has a very comfortable feel, excellent upper fret access and the superb fit and finish Yamaha became known for during this era.
This example is in very good condition for its age, with only light cosmetic wear consistent with normal use. The translucent orange finish has aged beautifully and the gold hardware has developed a tasteful patina over time.
Comes complete with an original Yamaha-branded Hiscox hard case.
