The Details
The Ampeg J-20 Jet is a gloriously straightforward valve combo built for players who appreciate vintage character without requiring a cockpit full of controls.
Rated at 20 watts and presented in a traditional 1x12 combo format, the J-20 is designed around the wonderfully direct relationship between guitar, valves and speaker. The front panel keeps matters beautifully simple with Normal and Bright inputs, Volume and Tone controls, followed by the onboard tremolo section with independent Speed and Intensity controls.
That tremolo is very much part of the attraction. From a subtle shimmer beneath clean chords to a deep, hypnotic pulse, it brings the sort of movement that has decorated blues, roots, rock 'n' roll, surf and atmospheric guitar records for generations.
Around the rear you'll find an external speaker connection and footswitch socket, while the open-back cabinet helps give the amp an airy, room-filling response.
