The Details
One of Brian Moore’s intriguing iGuitar models, combining traditional electric-guitar construction with the expanded electronics that made the iGuitar range such an unusual proposition.
This example features a deep transparent red figured top, natural-finished bolt-on neck, 24-fret fingerboard, twin humbuckers and a six-saddle bridge.
The iGuitar concept was designed to take the electric guitar beyond the familiar pickup-and-jack arrangement, making these instruments particularly interesting to players exploring piezo, modelling and computer-based guitar systems. The exact connectivity and electronic functions of this example should be confirmed before purchase if a particular digital or piezo feature is essential.
Cosmetically, this guitar has clearly been played. There are scratches and general marks to the finish, hardware wear, plus several noticeable chips around the body edges and upper horn, all shown in the photographs. None of that disguises what is a wonderfully distinctive instrument.
An unusual survivor from the era when guitar makers were enthusiastically building bridges between six strings and the digital world.
