Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS (2010), Olympic Pearl, Maple Fingerboard

This 2010 Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS is a handsome example of Fender’s premium American-made Strat of the period, finished in the wonderfully subtle Olympic Pearl with a contrasting tortoiseshell pickguard.
The HSS configuration gives it a particularly useful range. The neck and middle Fender N3 noiseless pickups provide those familiar clear, glassy Stratocaster sounds while keeping unwanted hum under control, with the bridge humbucker adding extra weight and authority for driven tones, rock and lead work. Fender’s S-1 switching system further broadens the available sounds without cluttering the traditional Strat control layout.
It features a maple neck and maple fingerboard, 22 frets, two-point tremolo and Fender locking tuners. The rear of the headstock carries serial number US10110570 and is marked Made in U.S.A., dating the guitar to 2010.
The Olympic Pearl finish has a lovely understated metallic character, especially handsome alongside the dark tortoiseshell guard and aged-white controls and pickup covers. It presents very nicely, with very few light signs of use.
Included is the Fender moulded hardshell case shown in the photographs. A versatile, high-spec American Strat from an excellent period, equally at home producing delicate Strat chime or giving the amplifier a firm shove from the bridge humbucker.
