Mo says…
Mo
A gloriously battle-scarred slice of Fullerton history. This 1974 Strat wears its years with magnificent abandon, with classic three-single-coil sparkle, tremolo and enough genuine character for several lifetimes.

Notable Particulars

  • Manufactured in Fullerton in 1974, offering genuine CBS-era Fender provenance and vintage appeal.
  • Three single-coil pickups provide the articulate, expressive Stratocaster tones that made the design a musical institution.
  • Heavily worn 3-Tone Sunburst finish gives this instrument an unmistakable, naturally aged appearance that simply cannot be mistaken for a pristine modern guitar.
  • Traditional Stratocaster tremolo provides familiar pitch expression, from subtle shimmer to more adventurous bends.
  • Weighing 3.6 kg / 9lbs, it remains a comfortable and practical vintage instrument for playing as well as collecting.

The Details

This is a wonderfully characterful 1974 Fender Stratocaster, manufactured in Fullerton, California and finished in 3-Tone Sunburst.

The guitar displays extensive wear throughout, with substantial finish loss, checking, marks and general evidence of a long working life. The photographs tell the story particularly well, so please examine them carefully when assessing cosmetic condition. Far from being a case queen, this is a Strat that looks as though it has spent decades doing precisely what Leo intended.

Classic Stratocaster appointments include three single-coil pickups, a white pickguard, three-way pickup selector, master volume and dual tone controls, plus the traditional tremolo bridge. The dark fingerboard carries dot position markers, while the large CBS-era headstock and Fender-branded tuners give it the unmistakable appearance of a 1970s Strat.

The neck plate is stamped 552738. Internal photographs are included to show the pickup and control cavities, underside of the pickguard, electronics and neck pocket, giving prospective buyers a useful view beneath the surface.

Weight is approximately 3.6 kg / 8lbs.

A hard case is included, as pictured.

With vintage instruments of this age, originality and component dating are best judged from the detailed photographs provided. The guitar shows considerable evidence of use and age, and we would encourage prospective buyers to study all images closely.

A striking, road-worn Fullerton Stratocaster with bags of visual character and the enduring versatility of Fender's most celebrated electric guitar design.
