Fender Standard Stratocaster, Tinted MN, 2008, Black (Pre-Owned)

A handsome Mexican-made Fender Standard Stratocaster combining one of the great electric guitar designs with a particularly tasteful black, maple and aged white combination.
The familiar SSS layout provides three single-coil pickups controlled by a five-way selector, master volume and two tone controls. It is the classic Stratocaster formula, capable of everything from crisp neck-pickup cleans and funky in-between sounds to the sharper attack of the bridge position.
The maple neck and fingerboard have a warm tinted appearance that works beautifully against the black body, while black dot markers keep things pleasingly traditional. Chrome Fender-branded machine heads and a six-saddle synchronized tremolo complete the hardware package, with the tremolo arm included as photographed.
The rear of the headstock is marked Made in Mexico and carries serial number MZ8201352. The guitar shows signs of previous use consistent with a played instrument, including some marks and wear visible in the photographs. The pickguard and cream-coloured plastics also show some natural discolouration and signs of age. Please inspect the photographs carefully for exact cosmetic condition.
A proper working Strat rather than a museum exhibit, and all the more appealing for it. Plug it into a clean valve amp, select position four, and several decades of records suddenly begin making perfect sense.
