The Details
A handsome 2012 Fender Standard Telecaster finished in Lake Placid Blue, one of those colours that seems to change character as the light moves across it. Paired with the warm-tinted maple neck, maple fingerboard and white pickguard, it is a particularly smart take on the classic Tele formula.
The electronics retain the beautifully simple Telecaster arrangement: neck and bridge single-coil pickups, three-way selector, master volume and master tone. The bridge uses six individually adjustable saddles, offering more precise intonation adjustment than the traditional three-saddle design.
Around the back you'll find the familiar bolt-on maple neck construction and six-in-line Fender sealed tuners.
A proper working Telecaster rather than a museum piece: simple controls, instantly recognisable looks and that wonderfully direct two-pickup layout. There is something rather satisfying about a Tele. Leo got the architecture right and generations of guitarists have been arguing over the wallpaper ever since.
