Fender Stratocaster (1970s), Natural (Pre-Owned)

An authentic slice of Fender's CBS era, this mid-1970s American Stratocaster combines the unmistakable styling of the period with the versatility that has kept the Stratocaster at the heart of popular music for generations. Its natural finish, maple neck and fingerboard, large headstock and three-bolt Micro-Neck-Adjust neck plate are all characteristic features of the decade. The neck plate carries serial number 575308, consistent with mid-1970s production, although the precise manufacturing year has not been independently verified.

The familiar trio of single-coil pickups provides the distinctive Stratocaster palette, from glassy cleans and crisp, percussive rhythm tones to expressive, singing leads. A traditional six-saddle synchronised tremolo adds further musical flexibility. The guitar is currently fitted with a black pickguard, black pickup covers and controls, and USA-made Schaller tuners. The original white pickguard, pickup covers, control knobs, tuners and rear tremolo cover have been retained and are included with the sale, offering the opportunity to return much of the instrument to its earlier appearance.

Condition is commensurate with a guitar that has seen considerable use over approximately five decades. There are numerous scratches, dents, chips and areas of finish wear throughout, including substantial wear to the headstock decals and a noticeable mark behind the headstock. The replacement tuners have also left additional mounting holes. These signs of age and modification are reflected in the photographs. The guitar comes with a black, Fender-badged shaped hard case, which also shows wear, including damage to its exterior covering.
