Gibson CL10 Standard (1997) Acoustic Guitar (Pre-Owned)

This 1997 Gibson CL-10 Standard is one of the more intriguing acoustics to emerge from Gibson’s Bozeman workshop during the 1990s. The CL, or Custom Line, series was relatively short-lived and preceded the development of Gibson’s later Songbird and Songwriter instruments.Built around a dreadnought-style body, the CL-10 combines a Sitka spruce top with mahogany back and sides. Its particularly interesting feature is the arched mahogany back, a construction that gives the model its distinctive personality and helps produce excellent projection with a full, rounded response.Appointments are unmistakably Gibson. There’s an abalone soundhole rosette, tortoise-style pickguard, distinctive moustache-style rosewood bridge, dot fingerboard inlays and the familiar Gibson headstock. Chrome Grover Rotomatic tuners provide dependable tuning, while the factory undersaddle pickup allows the guitar to be plugged straight into an acoustic amp, PA or recording setup.The photographs show serial number 91077007 on both the internal Gibson CL-10 Standard label and rear of the headstock. The guitar displays the natural ageing and minor marks expected of an instrument approaching three decades old, giving the spruce top a particularly handsome ambered appearance.
