The Details
This 2011 Gibson Les Paul Classic brings together the timeless proportions of Gibson's celebrated single-cutaway electric guitar with a particularly attractive translucent red finish that allows the wood grain to show through. Cream binding, a matching pickguard bearing the 1960 inscription, gold top-hat controls and open-coil zebra humbuckers give it a distinctive vintage-inspired appearance. The bound fingerboard features traditional trapezoid inlays, while the black headstock carries Gibson's familiar pearl logo and Les Paul Model script.
The combination of a mahogany body, carved maple top and dual humbuckers delivers the rich, sustaining sound for which the Les Paul is renowned. From rounded, articulate clean tones to thick blues leads and driven rock sounds, this is a versatile instrument with plenty of character. Two volume controls, two tone controls and a three-way pickup selector provide straightforward control over the guitar's sound, while the Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece offer a traditional, dependable arrangement.
Made in the USA in 2011, this example bears serial number 131310662 and presents very attractively, with some light signs of use and handling. The glossy red finish retains a handsome appearance, with visible grain adding depth and character. It comes complete with a Gibson USA hard case featuring a plush white interior, along with its inspection checklist and Gibson documentation. The case shows some exterior wear and has a previous owner's name stencilled on the outside.
