Höfner HI-BB Ignition Series Violin Bass, Sunburst (Pre-Owned)

A wonderfully distinctive Höfner B-Bass HI-Series Violin Bass, bringing one of the most recognisable bass silhouettes in popular music into an accessible, eminently giggable instrument.
Finished in a rich violin-style sunburst, it features the familiar symmetrical hollow-body shape, cream binding, pearloid pickguard and traditional tailpiece. Two pickups feed the characteristic Höfner control panel, with individual pickup switching and rotary controls providing plenty of scope for warm, rounded bass sounds.
The dark fingerboard carries simple dot markers, while pearloid tuner buttons and the script Höfner headstock logo complete the suitably sixties appearance. Turn it around and the sunburst continues beautifully across the back and neck.
There is a visible finish crack around the neck heel area, clearly shown in the photographs. Importantly, this is a lacquer crack only and is not structural. There are also normal signs of previous use, so please inspect all photographs carefully as they form part of the condition description.
The bass is supplied with the pictured fitted hard case, a very useful addition for storage and transport.
A splendid route into violin-bass territory, with enough visual swagger to make even an ordinary bass stand look as though it has accidentally wandered onto the set of a 1960s television special.
