The Details
The Kramer Focus 3000 is one of those wonderfully purposeful Japanese-built machines from the golden age of the hot-rodded electric guitar. This example comes dressed in a particularly handsome metallic blue finish, paired with a black scratchplate and matching blue headstock.
Its HSS layout combines two single-coil pickups with a bridge humbucker, giving it plenty of tonal territory to explore, from cleaner, brighter sounds through to the thicker drive and punch expected from a bridge humbucker. Three control knobs and pickup switching provide straightforward command from the cockpit.
A locking nut and Floyd Rose-style double-locking tremolo complete the period-correct performance setup, making this very much a guitar conceived for bends, dives and other acts of controlled musical mischief.
The rear of the headstock is marked “Made in Japan”, while the neck plate carries Kramer branding and serial number 11572.
A characterful Japanese Kramer for players, collectors and anyone who feels an electric guitar ought occasionally to sound as though it has just escaped from 1987.
