The Details

The Make Noise STO, or Sub-Timbral Oscillator, is a compact 8HP Eurorack analogue oscillator designed for everything from clean melodic voices to considerably stranger harmonic excursions. Its triangle core feeds dedicated Sine, SUB and Variable SHAPE outputs, with the SHAPE circuit allowing subtle shifts in harmonic content without losing sight of the fundamental pitch.

Pitch duties are handled by 1V/Oct control, while linear FM, exponential modulation and Hard Sync provide ample territory for more adventurous patches. The SUB oscillator adds serious low-end weight and has its own S-Gate input, allowing it to be gated or synchronised independently. Despite its modest dimensions, the STO makes a remarkably capable foundation for a complete modular voice.
