The Details
The Victory V4 The Copper is a compact, pedalboard-friendly guitar amplifier inspired by the chiming, harmonically rich character of Victory's VC35 Copper family. It combines a genuine four-valve preamp with a highly efficient Class D power stage and Victory's Valve Response Circuit, designed to recreate some of the sag and punch associated with a traditional valve power section.
With 180 watts available into 4Ω, this is no mere preamp pedal. Connect it directly to a suitable speaker cabinet and it functions as a remarkably portable amplifier. Alternatively, leave the cabinet at home and use the integrated Two Notes DynIR technology through the balanced outputs for recording or sending a cabinet-simulated signal straight to the PA. Six Chris Buck-created virtual cabinet presets are available from the unit, with deeper editing available through Two Notes Torpedo Remote.
The controls cover Gain, three-band EQ, Reverb and Master duties, while the footswitchable Treble Boost pushes the front end into richer overdrive and sustain. A series effects loop accommodates delays and modulation neatly after the preamp, while the headphone output handles quiet playing. There's even a 9V DC 500mA centre-negative output for powering additional pedals.
Housed in a compact aluminium chassis measuring approximately 258 x 174 x 105mm and weighing just 1.7kg, The Copper makes a formidable fly rig, backup amp or complete pedalboard-based amplification system.
